This month's meeting of Ale Atlanta on February 4, 2010, at
"the 5. West", falls close to the anniversary of a momentous occasion
back on February 5, 2004! Due to the long and tireless efforts of
Georgians for World Class Beer, headed by Ted
Hull and Mark Nelson, the Georgia Senate finally
passed HB645. The bill was legislation to raise the legal
limit on malt beverages. in Georgia, from 6% to 14% abv. The bill would later be
signed into law by Georgia's Governor, Sonny Perdue, on March 13,
2004.
For this meeting we will be celebrating by tasting:
Any Beer that is Above 6% abv!
And, we would encourage you to wear or bring any
Georgians for World Class Beer memorabilia that you might
have!
Ale Atlanta is a beer appreciation and
social club. There are no membership dues. Just show up thirsty,
and bring some interesting 6%+ beers to share with
the group. It is just a bunch of beer lovers getting together to enjoy
quality beers and quality people.
And, Thursday is always
CASK NIGHT at
"the5,West".
